Raseborg Castle Ruins

Raseborg castle is situated in the village of Snappertuna which is now part of the city of Ekenäs(Tammisaari). It was probably built in the 14th century and there is no other castle like this is Finland. This is the wooden bridge entrance to the castle.

Bengtskär view from the top..

View from the top of the lighthouse. The ferry docked near the rocks and we had to walk on the rocks to get to the lighthouse. It wasn't easy with the winds blowing fine sand into our eyes. Here is the helicopter landing pad and livestock was kept in those buildings a long time back when families were still living on the island.

Water Tower, Hanko

Hanko water tower was built in 1942 on Vartiovuori hill. The height of the tower is 48m and it offers a fantastic panoramic view of Hanko. The round foot and the four columns support a cylindrical water reservoir(capacity of 500 cubic meters.)
Mermaids as decorations were originally planned for the tops of the columns but due to high costs, four shell decorations were sculpted. The clock is still ticking.

Baltic Sea

There are a lot of fine sandy beaches in Hanko surrounded by the Baltic Sea. Here's Långsanda (Bellevue, Kolaviken) beach a shallow and nice beach especially for children. On the right(in the sea), there's a structure with ropes. Children are able to swing from the ropes and drop themselves into the sea.
